I just got back from a great run! A couple miles to the end of our road. I ran/jogged the whole way. On the way back I ran about half of the time. I was not expecting to do so well. About 4 miles total. Not bad at all.

I worked on my new blog. I will be switching over to that one next week or so. I wanted all my stuff in the same place and a fresh start so that is what I'm doing.

Well, not really but I have been going through some online lessons at night. Pressing down on the strings huts my fingers at the moment. It should become easier later on.

I worked on my poduction company site today. I'll post it when I get a little more on it. Updated some contact forms and little things here and there.

Finally!

Me and my Dad finished our Amazing Race applications and tape. I sent it off this afternoon. Now we just wait and see. It would be very cool if we were picked to go on it. An experience of a lifetime.

So that is what I did for the first part of the morning. Also I added a page to a site and fixed the meta tags on all of them. Also worked a little on the publishing site. I started reading some e-books as well. I'll do the same for tomorrow.

I also got guitar strings so I'm going to attempt to tune it. Now my sister wants to buy a bass. I always told her we oculd start a band together. We'll see how that goes.

I finished my personal site and worked on some links for other sites. I also started on a site for my publishing company, working on the logo. I also added some content to a website I just put up.

This weekend I'll research and implement ways to get traffic to my sites. I think this is the hardest thing of all the steps you need to take.

So I already broke a string on my guitar. Yup, that fast. I was trying to tune it up and I guess tightened it up a little too much. Well now I know. All I can do is laugh, start looking for new strings and learn from it.

A Pretty Good Start

My first real day back to work was good. I finished a niche site and started working on the hub for it. It's looking pretty good and hope to finish it tomorrow.

When we got back from our trip I had a nice little Christmas present waiting for me. I won a guitar signed by Motley Crue. I've been trying for a guitar for a while because I want to learn how to play and now I can. A minor problem is that it is a right handed one and I'm left handed. It will be a challenge to learn but I know I can do it.

Yesterday I ordered some pics, a strap and a cord to hook up to my computer. I'll update you guys when I make some progress.

I'm back, and it Stinks!

We got back from vacation to the Caribbean the other day. Nice 75-80 degree weather and we had an awesome time. It all worked out well. We took lots and lots of pictures and I might put a couple up. 18 family members came from 3 states and we had a blast.

Now back home its cold and raining. We all want to go back to the nice warm weather.

Thunder and Lightning

Yup, a little thunder and lightning today. It did not last long though, kind of disappointing.

I'm pretty much finished with the niche site and am now looking for the right domain name. The niche site will be a sub-domain, so I can have multiple sites under a common domain name related to the larger topic.

Tomorrow, I'll try and register a domain for it, possibly getting the site up live. We'll see how the day goes since I'm going to start packing for the trip.

One thing I forgot to mention, a couple days ago marked the one month mark for leaving my other job. I can't believe it has only been a month! I have learned a lot in this past month. I've done stuff I've never done before and will keep and use that knowledge. I have not made money, yet! But this niche site and some other ideas hopefully will start bringing it in.

Forgetful.....

I forget stuff all the time. Like just a little while ago. I was going to do something but now I have no idea what it is. I always say, if I forgot, it must not be that important. It might be and I'll remember it when I least expect it.

Today was a great day. I was writing more content for a niche website I'm working on and was looking for some templates I could use. I also made a header for it and I think it turned out pretty well. Seeing as I have little photoshop/design skills. I also started tweaking the template and adding content. It looks really good.

Tomorrow, I think I'll work more on implementing the content. Maybe take a look at domain names. The last few days till vacation will be hectic with getting stuff ready so I don't think I'll get a whole lot done.

The month of January is going to be crazy. I have a lot planned, so stay tuned.

Today, was a great day. I got a lot accomplished. I added adsense to the dark side blog, fixed the RSS feeds, fixed the posts that were messed up from the transfers and did a few little things here and there.

I'm Learning A Lot

Today, I transfered a blog that was on one site to another. It is now as it was on the old one. I've never done that before but now I know how. It wasn't that bad, ran into a few obstacles but I got through all of them.\

One thing I've been doing is keep going at one problem till I have it fixed, if it is fixable by me. I think that is the best thing to do, just keep going at it.

Tomorrow, I'll work on the RSS feeds, fix some problems with the posts, write more for a new niche website idea and a couple other things.

I started running again. I think I'll do this 3 or 4 times a week. Help build up my legs and stamina. I also need to start working on 2006 goals, projects and resolutions. I've already got some stuff in mind.

An OK Day

Did not get a lot done. Still trying to figure out some contact form problems.

Tomorrow I'm going to get a domain name for The Dark Side, upload everything and get it all working on it. Hopefully it wont be too bad.

I almost finished the camera case this past weekend. I have it all built but it's ok looking. I wish I had a powered saw. I need to make a lid of sorts and a clip.

Today is my last day of class though, so thats good. Also, its the last day of Amazing Race. Me and my Dad are going to enter the next one so this weekend we need to make a video.

Another Great Day

I worked on the question box and FINALLY got it aligned right in IE. There are still a couple of problems with the form but at least its aligned instead of at the bottom of the page.

I checked the blog in Mozilla, Firefox, Safari and IE. It all looks really good. I also researched and wrote about Virtual PC for using Windows applications on my Mac.

Yesterday I received my Amazon GC from my credit card company. I spent about $30 of it and will save the rest.

This weekend I'm going to finish making my camera case. Yes, I'm making one because I could not find one that I liked as I wanted it in a hard case. So I'm going to work on that this weekend.

Also work on more html tutorials and try and fix some little problems here and there with the blog.

Two weeks from today Me, immediate family and pretty much all relatives are going on a cruise in the Caribbean! Its going to be great.

I Had A Very Good Day

Today was great! I got almost everything done that I wanted to. The question box was the only thing that was not finished. I got it working for the most part. I still need to figure it out or find someone who knows how to fix it.

I started going through html tutorials online. I want to actually know what I'm doing so this will help.

Tomorrow I want to try and figure out the question box problem, look for free programs that enable you to use windows programs on a mac, write about it and see what The Dark Side looks like on other computers and browsers.

Another Day, Still Have No Idea What I'm Doing

Sorry I forgot to post yesterday. It just slipped my mind.

Today was a pretty good day. I worked on the header for The Dark Side. Had a lot of trouble with that one. I think I've finished it, for now. Got a new wordpress theme working. Now I just have to figure out how to change stuff in it.

Tomorrow I'll be working on the sidebars. I need to add some RSS feed buttons, try and figure out how to do a ask a question box, see how to add meta tags and try to add a more link to posts when you go through individual categories.

I started working on the logo header for The Dark Side blog. Pretty much worked on it all day. It's frustrating not really knowing photoshop. I'll add this program to the list of programs I need to learn. Hopefully this weekend I'll get some time in and finish the logo so I can mark it off the list.

Time went by fast today! I have a timer so every hour I take a minute or two and get up from my computer and stretch, walk around or just do something away from the computer. I think this will help me keep my sanity.

Also I stop working around 5ish(I start at 8 with an hour lunch) and I think this will help me keep my sanity as well.

Weekends are a time to do other non work projects that need to get done. I do some work on the weekends if need be.

That is all for today. Now I've got to work on putting a wedding video to DVD. Should be pretty easy.

I Like This Weather

Its windy, raining, dark out and I like it. Not to drive in though. That wont be fun.

At work today, it was good. Not any progress on one of my blogs but was reading all day on how to present, market and overall make it better. Even though I just started that blog I'm already going to redesign it. Here is what I'll be working on:

-rewrite articles

-space out the inside of the posts so they will be

easier to read

-Make a new header(actually I made one but could not get it to work and its not very good.)

I have a couple more things I need to work on as well.

So thats what I'll be working on tomorrow.

I'd like to wish my brother a Happy Birthday he is.....26 today, yeah, I think thats right.

The stock market and certain stocks in it are crazy. Not really if they went up or down but just crazy in general. Most of the time when I look at it I just shake my head and think, I don't get this at all.

This has been a rather long post. Now I'm off to The Spaghetti Factory with the Fam for my Bros birthday. Haha, like all the abbrevs?

I've been working on this site a lot for the last week or so. It has a decent amount of content and I am happy with the outcome. How will it do? I have no idea but will keep working here and there on it till it lives up to its potential. What I see in the future with this site is a place the people write the reviews. They come and read these reviews so why should they not write them as well. From their prespective. That way I don't spend a whole lot of time writing all the reviews and it can keep on chugging away. Growing and growing.

Today was a great day. This was my first real day working for myself. Pretty much all day. Last night I made a schedule to follow every day. From what time to wake up, when to eat and what I'm doing next. Its about a page long and worked very well. I got a lot done and time did not go by slowly. I'm in good spirits.

There are a couple of people with the same name as me by looking down the results list. That is kinda weird but interesting. Maybe I could contact them and conduct an interview. Saving money lots and lots of money

Well starting on Saturday I'll be saving at least $1000 a year. How you ask? Well we got a home gym for our....home, so I wont have to drive to the gym everyday. This will save me lots in gas as well as about 30 minutes driving time. The other way is not going to work. My last day is Friday and after that I'll be working from home. No more driving to work. It will help a lot in the financial department.

Well it was my birthday yesterday. I went to dinner with friends and family and it was lots of fun. Went to a nice Chinese restaurant called Fats and had great food. 10 people altogether.

Now onto the good stuff. I got a black Apple 4GB ipod nano! I wasn't expecting that. I got some cool t-shirts, a Nintendo DS game and some art pens. I had lots of fun and hope everyone else did.

Till my last day of work. I'm happy that I will go on to something new but I will miss the peope. I will still come around from time to time. But I need to focus on my business.

On another note, my stocks are up again. I wish I could actually have that money though. I may need it for a car but hopefully I don't. My 1992 Mitsubishi Galant with 219,000 miles is on its last legs. Why are cars so needy? Just work forever will ya!

In other news, Google stock is going crazy. Its about $348. I hope it keeps going up. My stock investments are up in value by %16. Not bad for not knowing what I'm doing.

Last night and this morning I completed a website. It consisted of writing an almost full page article, designing the layout and getting everything to work correctly. This was the first website I did so quickly. The program I found is awesome. I don't know any html, css, etc, so it works for me.

I also am working on my other sites. DavidGetchel.com, CrimesInPublishing.com and others. I'm getting better at putting the sites together and doing it in a timely fashion.

No Internet

Well, pretty much all day yesterday we had no internet when I got up at 6:00am. It stinks not having it. I could not do anything. It finally came back on around 5:30pm.

I liquidated all my CD's. I did so because I might be working on some projects that could require that money. I got a raise at work. That is a .76 cent raise. I'm happy but does not really matter to me. I'll work with whatever I make.

So I was balancing all my money and consolidated an account. I went to delete it in a section that I never go to. It listed all accounts, even cc's with a total at the bottom. $18,258.64. So if I liquidated everything except the 401(k) it would be about $14,989. I think that's pretty good seeing as I don't work full time.

For the petition so far, 12 people have signed. I want it to be hundreds or thousands a day. I cant expect it to happen overnight.

www.CrispinGloverforJoker.com is now active. After many long days not getting anywhere I went to my cousins and we worked on it. We got it working and last night I just finished up a few things. Broken links, etc. Basically its a petition to cast Crispin Glover as The Joker in the next Batman Begins. Me and my buddy believe that he is perfect for the role. He is tall, skinny and creepy looking, which is what The Joker is.

I sold my extra Nintendo DS. Sold it for half the price of a new one. I have more projects to work on, but I'm happy that this one is pretty much done. No more working on it unless I want to.

Sorry for not posting. I'm going crazy with this website I'm working on. The forms don't work right. I have posted on a forum, so we'll see If someone can help me. Next semester I am defiantly taking a html/website class. My entrepreneur class is going well. Have not really met with people in it but have talked with some of them. I had an idea at one of the breaks. A "business" card. A card with my name on it, my cell number, email, and "personal" web address. That way I can get my name out and will have links and info on what I do and my businesses. I will try and get some before class next week.

So I got to talking to a co-worker suggesting she should open up a shop or something. She likes to alter clothing and put her spin on it. When she works on that stuff at work I always think to myself, she's pretty good she could start a business doing that. Anyways, I told her she could start an online store selling one of a kind items. She said she would think about it. Its really not that hard to set one up. The hardest part will be time management in making the cloths.

That night we had a BBQ at an aunt and uncles house. I believe by the end of this week she will have adjusted and be happy. I'm sorry to say thats not the case with some family members. Its done and lets leave it in the past.

On a brighter note, I checked my mail today and received an envelope with an Offspring CD and a letter. It said that I was the Grand Prize winner in a contest. That I would be receiving a Sony CyberShot Digital Camera shortly. Thats pretty cool. That is all for now.

Alzheimer's

A couple of months ago my Grandma, we fully realized was in the early stages of Alzheimer's. She would forget little things here and there. Now I don't know all the details but will try and tell the whole story from what I gathered.
Alzheimer's is a progressive brain disorder that destroys a persons memory, and ability to learn, communicate, basically not able to live life. Currently there is no cure for Alzheimer's. It can take anywhere from 3 to 20 years to completely destroy the brain. Age, family history and genetics play a role in Alzheimer's. Overall wellness and the way you take care of your body will most definitely have an impact on you and the risk of Alzheimer's. Eating a healthy diet, staying active, avoid tobacco altogether and avoid excess alcohol are the basics. And of course exercising mentally and physically on a regular basis.
On August 20^th my Dad and his siblings will place her in a full time care facility. About a month ago they placed a tracking device on her car to see where she went and to quiz her next time they saw her. I think its called Land, Sea, Air. Something like that. Its satellite based and they can track her through the Internet. When she would go to our house we tracked her when she was longer than usual, finding out that she got lost. She would go to the wrong house when there was a family function. Not remembering people. I think she still knows all of her grandchildren. Also she is in clinical trials of some drugs that treat Alzheimer's. Its sad and really nothing we can do, but she is 75+ has 6 kids, and 12+ grandkids who all love her. She will still live in the same town, and we will do all the things we normally do with her. Nothing will change, she is still Grandma.

About 2 months ago I started taking vitamins. Not in pill form though. For some reason I can't take pills. So I had to find an alternative. My sister watches this health show and suggested a product that is powder, and you just add juice and mix it up. Its called AllOne. I take it every morning after breakfast. I don't get sick. I did have a sore throat yesterday but that cleared up later on. In all, I feel great, tired sometimes but thats because my lack of sleep.
I also really started to work out. Before I did some weights and exercise at home, but now I go to a gym. I am going to try 6 or 7 days a week. I feel that I can do that. I don't need to lose weight(105lbs), but I want to build muscle and keep my body in shape. I also want to try out for The Amazing Race so this will help.

No matter what people say pets become part of the family. We've had our dog for 14 years. Now she is in diapers 24/7, won't eat, and is not active anymore. We are taking her in today. It will be weird not having her around.

Well, I now have 2 more credit cards. They are the Amazon.com card and the Sony card. I've tried to get the Amazon.com before, but was turned down. Now that I have these cards I will be earning points, instead of nothing at all. I will pay them off every month of course. I'm going to keep my old card, even though I wont really be using it. It might hurt my credit if I cancel it. Just for signing up with the Amazon.com card I got a $30 off coupon that I could use right after I got approved online. It was reflected when you checked out. As for the Sony card, I earn points that can go towards Sony products. Even before the reward cards I put everything on my card. Its just easier. Now its even better.

Well I got a customer satisfaction survey from Bank of America about their mail system. and my interaction through it. All I can say Is they got a 1 out of 10 on pretty much everything. Long story short, they charged me a monthly fee($8.50) when my balance went below the minimum balance required to not be charged. The great thing is I had nothing to do with it and they still would not credit my account.

I've moved to 6th place. Overall I'm up 3.37%. RNVS went up yesterday. I'm going to wait until Monday or Tuesday to see if it goes up anymore.

I think I just got my biggest check from work. I worked a lot, mainly because of Star Wars. Also a cool $200 went to my 401(k) from it, and my employer will match a percentage of that.

Also I have a CD that is maturing next week. I was contacted by mail a couple of weeks ago reminding me about it, and giving me some options. I opted to just have it go into my savings account with them. I think I made like $22 in interest.

After this last week I am in 3^rd place at +7.06%. RNVS is down again. If it goes up again I might sell it. Maybe at a loss. I'm not sure though. All other stock is up 5% or more.

On another note, I just got back from an auction. This was my first one. I didn't bid on anything. Mainly I went to see what it was like. Next time though, I think I might bid on some stuff. They had a wide array of things. Cars, Tools, T.V.'s, lumber, dirt bikes and tons more. Thats all for now.

After a week I am in 4^th place out of 12! That was a surprise. Overall I am +1.70%. That is a lot better than earlier when I was in the red. Mainly I'm up because of GOOG and ANSI, which are both over 5% gain. Also RNVS is down only -4.93% instead of -8.5%. I will probably post another update on this after next Friday. So you can see a week by week change.

Ok, so the simulator started on Friday. Right now I am in last place with overall percentage down -.86%. Mainly because of Renovis inc. It is down about -8.5%. I will hold on to this stock. Why I'm not sure, but this is only a simulator. I just want to see what happens when I hold it for a month.
